Published

on

Monday night’s premiere of CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story brought in record breaking numbers.

With 4.5 million viewers, VH1’s biopic that chronicles the lives of the 90’s r&b hip-hop group TLC scored the highest-rated original cable movie of 2013.

The movie raked in a 2.9 in the 18-49 demographic and a 5.5 rating for women 18-34. The high ratings also broke records for VH1, making it the network’s highest-rated original movie ever.

And if you weren’t tuning in on Monday night, you might have noticed your timeline on your Twitter account cluttered with comments about the movie. The film not only generated nearly 1.92 million tweets with the hashtag #CrazySexyCool, but it also was the most tweeted program on television that night.

After the premiere, Lil Mama took to Instagram to thank her fans. “Thank you To Everyone who watched #crazysexycool last night. My apologies to all the guys who got smacked and crack with bottles. I had a blast making this movie. Thank you @therealtboz @therealchilli @drewsidoraofficial and @kekepalmer for making it easy for me. This was my first film and I was fortunate work with an understanding yet outstanding director Charles Stone III. To the producers @billdiggins.”

In the original made for television film, viewers will see the highs and lows of the girls, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, played by KeKe Palmer, the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, played by Lil Mama, and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, played by Drew Sidora.

So proud of Chili & T-Boz because they are LEGENDARY!!! If Left Eye were still here, she would be extremely proud herself!!! TLC were THAT girl group who laid the groundwork for so many who came afterwards (music of the 90s were the BEST). Drew Sidora, Lil Mama, & KeKe Palmer should be very proud!!! This is one of the best music miniseries (joining the ranks of “Jackson 5: The American Dream” & “The Temptations”). Great job, VH1!
