Why CeeLo Green Could Face Up To Four Years In Prison
CeeLo Green pleaded not guilty on Monday morning to drugging a woman with Ecstasy last summer.
On July 16, 2012, a 33-year-old woman reported that Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, the singer’s legal name, drugged her with Ecstasy during a dinner date in Los Angeles. The woman alleges that at the end of the night, CeeLo sexually assaulted her at the Luxe Hotel.
The District Attorney’s Office determined that there was “insufficient evidence prove rape of an intoxicated person beyond a reasonable doubt,” and Cee Lo will not face sexual assault charges, this according to a press release sent to HipHollywood.
But on Monday, the 38-year-old singer and his lawyer faced a judge to be arraigned on one felony count of “furnishing a controlled substance.” If convicted, the singer can face up to four years in prison.
Cee Lo is due back in court on November 20.
