Radio Host Mr. Cee Resigns After Drag Queen Video Surfaces Online
Radio host Mr. Cee resigned from New York’s Hot 97 on Wednesday, after a Youtube video surfaced of Mister allegedly having an encounter with a drag queen.
“I let everyone down,” the DJ tweeted on Wednesday. “I have issues please don’t give up on me. I need help, just can’t deal right now. Maybe better off dead,” the 20-year veteran wrote on the social media website.
In a video that surfaced on YouTube, a drag queen named Bimbo Winehouse, is playing an audio recording of a near seven-minute sexual encounter with the DJ, allegedly.
“Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr. Cee has chosen to resign,” Hot 97 General Manager Alexandra Cameron wrote in a statement.
“We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97,” Cameron explained.
On Thursday morning, Calvin Lebrun, the host’s legal name, tweeted, “Thanks for all the support everyone i will ride out wit y’all today @ 12Noon Hot 97 wants me to get off Twitter so once again love u guys.”
