Why The Canadians Don’t Want A$AP Rocky Performing In Their Country

Published

A$AP Rocky’s pockets took a minor hit this week after a performance by the rapper was cancelled because of allegations he slapped a female fan. Canada’s York Federation of Students announced on Friday that the rapper’s September 18th show has been nixed on their website due to the rapper’s legal troubles.

“The A$AP Rocky performance at the YorkFest Concert, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18, has been cancelled after the York Federation of Students Board of Directors learned of allegations of an assault against a woman that are currently before a U.S. court. The Board of Directors has decided that this event cannot proceed until this matter is resolved. This decision should not be construed as suggesting that the YFS has any knowledge of the incident, or has a view on the innocence or guilt of the artist.

The cancellation of an event, which has been painstakingly planned for months, is a difficult decision for the YFS. We apologize to our members who planned to attend the event and are trying to organize another concert for next week. We invite you to the many events planned for YorkFest this year.”

A Philadelphia woman claims that the rapper hit her in the face at Jay-Z’s Made in America music festival during Labor Day weekend. Rocky has since been charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment.

That’s right almost a million bucks — $996,631.90 to be exact — was slotted for Drake to shoot the visuals for his latest hit but instead he used all the money to make a difference. And in doing so, he made us cry … multiple times. Just watch the video below.

In a statement the self-professed “6god” said this video was “the most important thing” he’s ever done. We’d agree.
