Hot or Bothered? Best & Worst Dressed at the MTV VMA’s
There were a lot of awkward and uncomfortable moments at this years MTV VMA’s held at Barclay’s in Brooklyn. But before the show even got started, a host of some of our favorite singers and entertainers hit the red carpet in looks that were hot and others that had us totally bothered. Just in case you missed it, here’s the best and the worst of it.
Rita Ora hit a high note in this Alexandre Vauthier Couture ensemble. And, that bob? It deserves a round of applause.
Ciara stunned in this Givenchy gown, slightly reminiscent of Beyonce’s 2012 Met gala gown, but Ciara still rocked it.
And CiCi’s showed up with her man Future who showed up in this patchwork Alexander McQueen suit. We’re not sure if we’re loving it, but we do like how well he cleans up.
Paula Patton posed it up on the carpet in this black sequined strapless gown looking gorgeous as usual.
And Robin Thicke also looked daper in this black suit. We won’t even mention that Beetle Juice looking striped ensemble he wore for his performance with Miley Cyrus.
Joan Smalls gave her simple white sheath some edge with these black leather Viktor & Rolf boots.
Ashanti showed some skin in this aqua Michael Costello gown … which we’re pretty sure is also the same dress Laura Govan wore as a bridesmaid in her sister Gloria’s wedding.
Will Smith was on daddy duty at this years VMA’s escorting his kiddies, Willow and Jaden, to the show wearing this navy jacket and shirt combo with slacks and green shoes.
Meanwhile Willow, sporting G-star denim overalls and Givenchy suede wedge boots, posed with her brother Jaden on hit the carpet.
Miley Cyrus wants us to believe this was “vintage” Dolce and Gabbana. It looks more like American Apparel cropped top and leggings embellished with Christmas decoration.
Lil Kim arrived in this laser-cut leather bodysuit by Anthony Latimore and yellow suede boots. Not an awful look, until we noticed that Kim was wearing her thong on the outside of the jumpsuit.
The ladies of Danity Kane made their official return on the red carpet in coordinating black and white ensembles.
Jennifer Hudson looked sleek and snatched in this leather Christian Dior dress.
Drake gave us all black everything, while promoting his upcoming album “Nothing Was the Same” on the red carpet. We’re not mad at it.
And Jordin Sparks showed off her curves in this white cropped skirt and top ensemble. While it appears to be a little too tight, we still love the look she’s going for.
