Paula Deen Admits To Using The ‘N’ Word But Is Not A Racist?

Paula Deen received hefty backlash Wednesday afternoon after reports surfaced that the celebrity chef admits to using the ‘N’ word, but according to Deen’s lawyer, the southern chef is not racist.

“Contrary to media reports, Ms. Deen does not condone or find the use of racial epithets acceptable,” her lawyer, Bill Franklin explained in a statement. “She is looking forward to her day in court,” he added.

A former manager at Deen’s restaurants in Savannah is suing Deen and her brother for sexual and racial harassment. The lawsuit claims the employee was subjected to multiple racists, sexist, and inappropriate moments while working at Paula’s Oyster House in Georgia.

According to Deen’s deposition that was just filed, she claims that although she uses the ‘N’ word, she’s never told any racial jokes. She also states that she and her family object to using the word in any cruel manner.
