Jay-Z Reunites With Frank Ocean On “Oceans”

Jay-Z revealed the lyrics for a new track titled “Oceans” off his upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail, and it features vocals from none other than Frank Ocean. In a video released on the MCHG app, Jay explains the track is about a duality.

“No matter where I go in life, or things I accomplish when I walk into that room, your past still comes in with you … It’s like a celebration of where we are now, on some big yacht pouring champagne, but the undertow of the thing, is that the same water is the water that brought us here originally.”

This is the first time the two artists have collaborated since Watch The Throne.

In order to promote his album, rumor has it Jay-Z is planning a surprise performance atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theatre for July 8th, coinciding with his appearance on “The Late Night Show with David Letterman.” The rapper attempted to perform in the same spot back in 2010, but New York City rejected the request over concerns about security and crowd control.

It’s no secret that Drake’s been on a giving spree while in Miami. From college kids to hotel workers and everyone in between, the rapper has been changing lives one dollar at a time — and now we can see it all in action.

Clearly, it was “God’s Plan” for Drizzy to take his entire budget for his music video and spend it on various residents and workers in Florida’s hot spot city. That’s right almost a million bucks — $996,631.90 to be exact — was slotted for Drake to shoot the visuals for his latest hit but instead he used all the money to make a difference. And in doing so, he made us cry … multiple times. Just watch the video below.

In a statement the self-professed “6god” said this video was “the most important thing” he’s ever done. We’d agree.
