Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas was arrested early Thursday morning after being caught with illegal fireworks.
The California Highway Patrol told HipHollywood that Arenas was pulled over around 2:30 A.M. on the US-101 in Los Angeles for speeding. But when law enforcement approached the Ford pickup truck, they spotted a number of illegal fireworks in the rear-bed. We were told that the LAPD Bomb Squad was called to the scene to take the fireworks away.
Arenas was transported to LAPD Van Nuys Jail where he was booked and eventually released for possession of Fireworks within the City Limits.
This isn’t the former Washington Wizards player’s first run in with the law. In 2010 Arenas pled guilty to a felony charge of carrying a pistol without a license and brandishing it in the Washington Wizards’ locker room.
