After much controversy surrounding Tiara Thomas signing a deal with singer/songwriter Rico Love over Wale’s BOA Label, the talented singer is finally speaking out.

While on the gray carpet for Debra Lee’s PRE BET Awards soiree, HipHollywood caught up with Thomas to get her reaction on some of the criticism she’s received for leaving Wale for Rico. “I know I have a good team that’s surrounding me. I know Rico, he’s awesome, he’s super talented. I don’t pay attention to any of that,” Tiara shared.

As for where Tiara and Wale’s relationship stands now? “Last week I talked to him. We don’t have any beef, we’re good,” Thomas said.

HH also caught up with Rico to get his reaction on the entire controversy. “The truth is that Wale’s people brought her to me … It was a lot of things going around that weren’t really all the way true, but it was a blessing,” Love explained.

When Thomas first broke into the industry, Wale helped launch the singer’s career and set a platform for her. Tiara and Wale even collaborated on r&b’s number one hit “Bad” which made it’s way to the top of the Billboard charts.

Since signing with Love, Tiara and Wale both dropped different versions of “Bad.” Wale created a remix to the hit which now features Rihanna, and Tiara released a version of the song which only features herself on the track.

Check out what Thomas and Love had to say below:

Will also snapped some fun flicks with his son Jaden before greeting fans and speaking with reporters including HipHollywood.

He told HipHollywood that he was super excited to reunite with his Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the film, and would “work with him whenever he wants to.

“I love his madness how he creates,” gushes Smith. “How he thinks about scenes, the way he works with actors, it’s some of the best psychological work of any director I’ve ever worked with.”

In the film Smith plays an LAPD cop in a mythical world of orcs, elves and fairies … and Ayer told us, he couldn’t think of anyone better for the role.

“We had such a good time on Suicide Squad together and this role is kind of perfect for him, it’s an edgy movie, buts it’s funny. He’s got the best sense of humor of anybody I know.”

BRIGHT debuts on Netflix December 22. Peep the newest trailer below.
