The next installment of Yeezus may already be in the works, that is according to producer Rick Rubin.
In the interview with Newsweek’s Daily Beast, Rubin reveals that West called for his help just five weeks before the album’s release date, in which Rubin gave this critical advice. “Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe it is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half.” Rubin said West agreed with his idea and ran with it. The final version of the original Yeezus album has 10 tracks, despite 16 being planned originally.
Asked flat out if there was another Yeezus coming, Rubins responded, “Might be.”
Yeezus debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, selling 327,000 copies in its first week.
