R&B singer Miguel is taking a break from drop kicking fans to express his concerns over the mental conditioning of the African-American community. The singer launched into a racially charged diatribe on Monday after a Twitter follower accused him of selling his soul.
“Don’t be an idiot,” Miguel replied before tweeting out this series of messages:
“I’m proud of my heritage but honestly, Black people are the most judgmental people in the world. Sh*t’s sad man. We’ve been conditioned, pre-programmed to hate ourselves … that’s why I appreciate those who choose to think and act for themselves regardless of ethnicity or culture,” the singer remarked in a series of tweets.
“The problem can not be fixed until the problem is recognized. Not everyone is the same, thank goodness. And obviously, I love all my fans,” he continued, adding, “Of course EVERYONE is judgemental. I just PERSONALLY believe WE are the most critical of our own.”
What do you think of Miguel’s rant? And is he right? Are Black people the most critical of their own?
