HipHollywood has learned that New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne suffered another seizure on Tuesday night. The rapper was taken to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles where he was treated overnight and released Wednesday morning.

It’s the third time this year Wayne has been hospitalized for seizures; the rapper spent several days in the intensive care unit of the same hospital back in March. After being sent home, he called into LA radio station Power 106 to talk about his health.

“The thing is, man, the bad news is, I’m an epileptic, so I’m prone to seizures,” he said. “This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures; y’all just never hear about it. This time it got real bad because I got three of ’em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died soon. That’s why it was so serious. The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That’s typical me, though.”

Wayne’s highly publicized addiction to ‘sizzurp’ could also be playing a role in the rapper’s seizures occurring more frequently. “Codine in excess lowers the seizure threshold, so with somebody like Lil Wayne who has a history seizure, taking a lot of codine is going to put him at risk of having more seizures”, neurologist, Dr. Charles E. Niesen, told us back in March.
