Kelly Rowland released a new song on the Internet this morning that has the world buzzing. The song is titled “Dirty Laundry” and features the r&b singer airing some very intimate details about her private life.
One of those details is her resentment over Beyonce’s success. “When my sister was on stage / killing it like a mother f*cker / I was in a rage / feeling it like a motherfucker,” she sings. “When our separate ways / but I was happy she was killing it / bitter sweet / she was up / I was down / no lie I feel good for her but what do I do now?” she questions before the song takes a darker turn.
In the third verse, Kelly reveals that she was abused by an ex. “Hitting the window like it was me / And still it shattered. He pulled me out and said ‘Don’t nobody love you but me / Not your mama / Not your daddy / and especially not Bey.'”
The track is certainly one of the more personal records we’ve heard from any singer in years, and it is definitely worth a listen. You can hear the song below.
“Dirty Laundry” will appear on Kelly’s upcoming studio album, Talk A Good Game, due in stores on June 18th.
