Big Boi Cancels Tour Dates, Out For Six Weeks
After suffering a knee injury during a show in Illinois last week, Big Boi has canceled multiple shows on his tour.
The 38-year-old posted a picture of himself on crutches the day after the injury, captioning it: “Injured my leg on stage yesterday, headed to the A for some test #TooTurntUp #Turndownforwhat #weoutchea.”
Also following the injury, a rep told MTV, “Currently on his headlining Shoes For Running tour, rapper Big Boi of Outkast has injured his leg while performing yesterday forcing him to cancel his St. Louis show today. Currently going through testing, Big Boi apologizes to his St. Louis fans for canceling the show.”
Antwan André, the rapper’s legal name, will be out for six weeks, but has been updating his fans on his recovery via social media. “God Bless Atlanta Sports medicine for a successful Knee Surgery fixed my torn Patella #Jesus,” the rapper posted on Instagram.
In another post, the rapper posted a picture of himself relaxing watching TV, captioning: “Man this bout to be a long 6 weeks , #Fox5LilScrappy #RehabRightfoot #shoesforrunningPattonManorNorth.”
So far, the tour dates have not been rescheduled. The rapper has been promoting his latest album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors during the tour.
