What Jennifer Hudson, Kim Kardashian And Will Smith Want From President Obama

Lil Wayne, Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj, Will Smith, Kim Kardashian and 95 more celebrities are calling on President Obama to make radical changes to the criminal justice system.

Russell Simmons presented a letter to the President on Tuesday calling for the replacement of federal jail sentences for non-violent drug related crimes, with intervention and rehabilitation programs.

“It is critical that we change both the way we think about drug laws in this country and how we generate positive solutions that leave a lasting impact on rebuilding our communities,” Simmons said, noting that the United States incarcerates more of its population than any other country in the world.

The group of celebrities are also asking Obama to form a panel to address clemency requests and support a reform allowing judges to overturn mandatory minimum sentences for relatively minor drug offenses.

CodeBlack Could Redeem Itself With New Omar Epps, Paula Patton Flick

No shade to CodeBlack Films, but it’s last flick, All Eyes On Me, was kind of a disaster. From the poor ratings and reviews, to stars like Jada Pinkett Smith and 50 Cent slamming the film, folks just weren’t feeling it.

But that may all change with their new movie Traffik. The action-packed thriller slated for theaters April 27, 2018 stars Omar Epps, Paula Patton and Laz Alonso, and it looks pretty darn good.

In the film, Brea (Paula Patton) and John (Omar Epps) are off for a romantic weekend in the mountains. Isolated at a remote estate, the couple are surprised by the arrival of two friends, another couple, Darren (Laz Alonso) and Malia (Roselyn Sanchez). Just when the weekend starts to get back on track, a violent biker gang turns up and begins to torment them. The foursome are forced to fight for their lives against a gang who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets.

The film is written and directed by Deon Taylor. Patton is also a producer.
