Mitch Winehouse Not Happy With Beyonce’s “Back To Black” Cover

Published

on

It looks like someone forgot to tell Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch about Beyonce covering his daughter’s hit song, “Back to Black.” A preview of the track debuted earlier this week in a trailer for The Great Gatsby, which was news to Mr. Winehouse.

“First I have heard about Beyonce and ‘Back to Black’. Sounds like some of you don’t like the idea,” Mitch tweeted. “Let me repeat. This is the first I have heard of Beyonce doing Amy’s song,” he continued.

Mitch then suggested Beyonce make a £100,000 donation to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. “Do you know how many kids that would help? Just putting it out there.”

Good luck with that one, Mitch. “Back to Black” is featured on the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby, which is being executive produced by B’s husband, Jay-Z. Also featured on the cover is Atlanta rapper, Andre 3000. No word on if Mitch expects the Outkast to make a donation as well.

Will also snapped some fun flicks with his son Jaden before greeting fans and speaking with reporters including HipHollywood.

He told HipHollywood that he was super excited to reunite with his Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the film, and would “work with him whenever he wants to.

“I love his madness how he creates,” gushes Smith. “How he thinks about scenes, the way he works with actors, it’s some of the best psychological work of any director I’ve ever worked with.”

In the film Smith plays an LAPD cop in a mythical world of orcs, elves and fairies … and Ayer told us, he couldn’t think of anyone better for the role.

“We had such a good time on Suicide Squad together and this role is kind of perfect for him, it’s an edgy movie, buts it’s funny. He’s got the best sense of humor of anybody I know.”

BRIGHT debuts on Netflix December 22. Peep the newest trailer below.
