Biggie’s Childhood Home Hits Brooklyn Real Estate Market
Sorry Black folks, we don’t know if you got the memo, but you’re no longer welcome in Brooklyn. Gentrification is slowly pushing out residents that have called the borough home for decades, and you need look no further than this hip-hop related real estate listing as evidence.
The “one room” shack that Biggie raps about on his hit song “Juicy” is now for sale with a $725,000 price tag. The spot is located in BK’s Clinton Hill neighborhood, which isn’t exactly the same “public housing” the late rapper once rapped about.
The three-bedroom condominium has a den/office, living room, full kitchen and formal dining room. The spot also features hardwood floors, crown moldings, a coffered dining room ceiling and granite countertops and is convenient to subway, shops, and restaurants … including Barclays Center, which Big’s buddy Jay-Z helped build.
If you’re in Brooklyn, HipHollywood has learned that an open house is going on tonight from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at 226 Saint James Place. And while $725k might seem like a big chunk of change, the listing is being considered a bargain in Brooklyn as real estate prices continue to rise in the trendy borough.
