Beyonce admits she’s a feminist, but says that doesn’t mean she can’t be a wife and mother. Bey graces the cover of the May issue of British Vogue in a white and grey cropped shirt, and gorgeous sequined teal skirt.
Inside the issue, Beyonce speaks candidly about her relationship with husband Jay Z, motherhood, and her music.
When asked whether or not she was a feminist, the artist told the fashion magazine, “That word can be very extreme … But I guess I am a modern-day feminist. I do believe in equality. Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I’m just a woman and I love being a woman.”
Mrs. Carter recently made headlines with the controversial lyrics to her new song, “Bow Down.” On the tune, Bey warns female artists in the music industry to stay in their lane, declaring herself the queen of music. Several artists including Keyshia Cole took exception to the track.
The May issue of British Vogue hits newsstands everywhere April 8th.
