It’s been a good week for 2 Chainz. The rapper had one of the more talked about sets at Coachella, and HipHollywood has learned that the hip-hop emcee was also acquitted of drug charges on Wednesday.
The rapper’s legal issues stemmed from a February 14 traffic stop in Eastern Shore, Maryland. That’s where police discovered marijuana and a marijuana grinder inside a van Chainz and his entourage were traveling in.
Talbot County District Court Judge William H. Adkins III found the rapper not guilty of possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Wednesday afternoon, saying there was no way to prove that the drugs actually belonged to 2 Chainz.
Following his acquittal, Chainz tweeted: “Boxing gloves. I beat the trial.”
