The “F” Stands For “Fine”: Birdman Clarifies Wayne’s Health Status

Published

on

As HipHollywood reported to you yesterday, Lil Wayne was finally released from a Los Angeles hospital, where he had been kept for nearly a week due to seizure related complications.

During his hospitalization, reports of Weezy’s condition had been grossly exaggerated by multiple media outlets, with some even putting the rapper on his death bed!  To set the record straight, Wayne’s “father,” and Cash Money founder, Birdman (aka Baby), called into NYC radio station Hot 97 and spoke with radio personality, Angie Martinez.

Among the things he wanted to clear up were, the extent of Weezy’s illness, and the fact that, contrary to some reports, Wayne’s hospitalization was NOT drug (or sizzurp syrup) related.

After explaining that Weezy was doing “real good,” Birdman explained what prompted this latest seizure:

“I mean, it’s work ethics.  What he puts in and what he believes in, and how hard he works…How much dedication he puts in to his music and his fans…It ain’t have nothing to do with drugs – no such thing…It’s just that he works!  He’s a hard worker.”

When asked about the extent of Weezy’s condition, Birdman shot down the near-death rumors:

“He never was about to die…it was never nothing like that… [TMZ] freaked the world with that.”

Birdman went on to say that Wayne has been ordered to get “rest and relaxation,” and that he would be provided with “round the clock care” to make sure he followed instructions.

Will also snapped some fun flicks with his son Jaden before greeting fans and speaking with reporters including HipHollywood.

He told HipHollywood that he was super excited to reunite with his Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the film, and would “work with him whenever he wants to.

“I love his madness how he creates,” gushes Smith. “How he thinks about scenes, the way he works with actors, it’s some of the best psychological work of any director I’ve ever worked with.”

In the film Smith plays an LAPD cop in a mythical world of orcs, elves and fairies … and Ayer told us, he couldn’t think of anyone better for the role.

“We had such a good time on Suicide Squad together and this role is kind of perfect for him, it’s an edgy movie, buts it’s funny. He’s got the best sense of humor of anybody I know.”

BRIGHT debuts on Netflix December 22. Peep the newest trailer below.
