We caught up with Rihanna and Nick Cannon at the Pepsi Fan Jam Superbowl Concert on South Beach. Went backstage where we talked to all the stars that were part of the SOS Hope For Haiti Telethon, including Bill Clinton, Chris Brown, Ludacris, Jazmine Sullivan, Robin Thicke, Nas and Damian Marley to name a few. We were also there to see Warren Sapp be released for his run-in with the law, Saturday night. And we hang out with Ludacris, Terrell Owens & OchoCinco at one heck of a pool party.
Everyone comes to Hollywood for Grammy week but it's rare to catch all the amazing talent in one place...but BMI made it happen. They hosted the "How I Wrote That Song" panel discussion that included artist Common, Nas, Colbie Calliat, Zac Brown and producers Salaam Remi and Sebastian Krys. The discussion centered around how songs start on pen and paper then turn into smash hits (Fugee La, Bubbly, Hate Me Now and Come Close, to name a few) but then the most AH-mazing thing happened. While Common's "The Light" played over the speaker, he picked up the mic, told them turn the song off, then he, Zac Brown and Colbie Calliat performed the song live...Catch the video on the other side...
We caught up with Grammy Winner Jamie Foxx and talked about the honor of the prestigious award. Foxx also gave a shout out to his beloved Grandmother. Jamie also threw an AH-mazing bash celebrating the Grammy's. Now, I've been to some Jamie parties but this one had to be the best. This is from the file of things that just don't make sense. Former NFL champion, Warren Sapp, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery against his girlfriend of 2 years, early Saturday morning. The incident occurred at the Shore Club Hotel in Miami and according to the police report, the NFL Network host had a heated exchange after a night of partying, went on to choke and push the victim and eventually kicked her out of their hotel room.
The NFL Network released a statement in regards to Sapp's arrest:
"We were made aware this afternoon of the arrest of Warren Sapp by the Miami Police Department (sic). In light of these circumstances, Warren Sapp will not appear on NFL Network while we review the matter."
Sapp will be in court Sunday at 9:30am at the Miami Dade Courthouse.
This is the second NFL Network host to run into some legal woes this week. Superbowl champ and former Dallas Cowboy, Michael Irvin was arrested on Thursday after a woman filed a civil suit of sexual assault that occurred in 2007 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. Irvin is fighting the accusations and has filed a countersuit, asking for $100 million dollars in damages.
