Kanye's "We Were Once a Fairytale"

Directed by Spike Jonze, 'We Were Once a Fairytale' is Kanye West's first short film (we're sure they'll be more). The point of of the film is ambiguous, and we'll leave that up to the viewer. Artistically, there are multiple meanings. The film begins with a very drunk Kanye being obnoxious and loud in a night club. Ironically, he appears to be the picture of alcoholism. He then takes a very weird trip the bathroom where he stab himself and rose petals are substituted for blood - Possibly playing into the idea that his "purged pain" is "beautiful art"? There's no telling...it's Kanye. The vid is cool, especially if you're into film. Could he be foreshadowing his demise with this video? Is it a cautionary tale?

Check out part two on the flipside.
