Mama Tina Knowles is going on a social media hiatus and it appears to be all over recent drama revolving around Jennifer Hudson.
On Wednesday, Tina took to Instagram to reveal that she’ll be “taking a break from social media as this is the bad side of it. There are people who make thier living off of negativity.”
So what exactly led to the sudden exit?
Tina recently accidentally liked a comment on Instagram criticizing Jennifer Hudson, the songstress who also appeared alongside Beyonce in the 2006 film, Dream Girls.
The comment, written under a video of Hudson, Beyonce and co-star Aniko Noni Rose singing, read: “Jhud sounds terrible.” Per the usual, folks on the social networking website took the “like” by the reigns and ran with it, creating a firestorm of comments.
In efforts to defend herself, Tina posted a lengthy message suggesting that it was all a misunderstanding and that she would never speak ill of Hudson. “I am writing this commentary for Jennifer Hudson and not for the evil mean people that are making this into a social media ugly thing,” she wrote.
The 62-year-old continued, “I’ve known Jennifer Hudson for many years and have totally been in admiration of her talent and beauty and kindness I would never ever say anything negative about her or agree with anything negative!”
“My children worried that I might accidentally touch something when looking at other sites and have warned me about it . They always say that I am not that great on social media I have to be very careful . and somehow maybe I touched a button,” she wrote. “But the truth is I was on my Instagram and someone commented on Beyoncé (positive) by the way , and I went to look at their site and saw some good videos and performances of Beyoncé I came across the video of her and Jennifer (which I totally enjoyed) and I was looking at them I didn’t even look at the comments or what people were saying till just now. and I absolutely would not have touched a like or dislike on one of these sites.”
Beyonce’s mom added, “I think if you look through my Instagram you’ll see that I am not a hater and I am not negative about people so to Jennifer for my mistake of accidentally touching it which I don’t remember doing I really apologize I totally love and Admire you and I’d have to be pretty stupid to do that knowing it would be everywhere.”
J Hud has yet to comment.
2018 Wearable Art Gala: Beyonce Moved To Tears + How Blue Ivy Stole The Show AGAIN
It was a Knowles/Carter family affair over the weekend at the 2018 Wearable Art Gala.
Celebrities flocked to the Waco Center in Los Angeles on Saturday night for Tina Lawson’s “Waco to Wakada” gala, an event to raise money for a non-profit art and performance complex. Some of the attendees included Magic Johnson, V Boseman and Lisa Raye, but it was Beyonce and company that really stole the show.
During the event, the Queen Bey, who stunned in a custom Falguni Shane Peacock gown, delivered an emotional speech while accepting the 2018 Waco Theater Humanitarian Award. “I never thought people should receive awards like this because in my opinion, the giving is the reward and that’s enough,” Bey told the crowd.
She added, “I try to keep my charitable work quiet because I feel like these things should come from the goodness of your heart and nothing orchestrated as a campaign. And if I’m honored, I keep it quiet because I feel like I could be doing more.”

Bey wasn’t the only family member taking home an award. The singer’s mother-in-law, Gloria Carter, accepted the Everyday People Award. “She raised four kids and she did the best job with me,” Jay Z said on behalf of his mother.
“My mother is a beautiful human being. She’s a progressive woman, who was always strong. She’s someone who is so strong that she told me, ‘You can do anything in life.’ I believed it so much that I thought she made it up herself,” the rapper told the crowd. “I didn’t realize it was a cliché, but I worked really hard because of her saying. I’m very happy and proud of you.”
And we’ve said it before and we will say it again … Blue Ivy always manages to become the spotlight and she did just that with her insanely adorable antics.
During the event, Jay had to stop his 6-year-old from bidding on items worth upwards of $19,000, including an acrylic painting of a young Sidney Poitier.
In video that surfaced on social media over the weekend, you see Jay hilariously slap her hand down to stop from the major bidding war. Ironically, Blue was bidding against mogul, Tyler Perry.
