Shots Fired: Russell Simmons Slams André Leon Talley

Published

on

Russell Simmons is firing back at fashion connoisseur André Leon Talley after André said designers should ban Simmons from attending their shows at fashion week.

“I don’t think Russell Simmons should be seated on anybody’s front row this week after having done that disgusting Harriet Tubman sex tape. He is a man of great achievement. He is a great philanthropist. Why would he think it would be an honorable thing to do? He said he thought it was funny. That is not funny it is outrageously disrespectful to the legacy and history of Harriet Tubman and to the struggle.”

Simmons took a beating in the press earlier this year after he foolishly thought it would be funny to produce a sketch comedy video about a Harriet Tubman sex tape.

Despite that faux pas, Simmons took to Twitter to defend himself, calling out André’s lack of credentials in the process.

“I’m really sincerely sorry @andreleontally. FYI, I’ve done more for Blacks in fashion and gay rights than you. Can I get a break/seat?”

“Where were you on marriage equality @ gay pride, don’t ask, don’t tell? Did you help change fed policy LAST WEEK on mandatory minimum sentencing.”

Uncle Rush has a point, but who sides are you on in this battle of the fashion divas?

Stop looking for a pass, Russ. Feel free to continue progressive work. Your record does not create a shield for you.

What progressive work?? What has this fool done for his own race that has helped them as a whole? Harriet Tubman was progressive. Making money and being greedy for more and more is not progressive. Starting foundations that provide college tuition and great paying jobs for his people would be progressive.

Ugh! Russell Simmons just lost an admirer. What an uneducated thing to do. What a fool he has become since gaining so much fortune. That’s what demonic people who join illuminati to gain wealth turn into afterwards. His true dark soul has shone through. But not for heroes like Harriet Tubman, his black behind would be picking cotton or locked in a cage. Why did not the fool Russell make a cartoon of the kkk? Huh? The punk won’t mess with them. He’d rather pick on his own.

Will also snapped some fun flicks with his son Jaden before greeting fans and speaking with reporters including HipHollywood.

He told HipHollywood that he was super excited to reunite with his Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the film, and would “work with him whenever he wants to.

“I love his madness how he creates,” gushes Smith. “How he thinks about scenes, the way he works with actors, it’s some of the best psychological work of any director I’ve ever worked with.”

In the film Smith plays an LAPD cop in a mythical world of orcs, elves and fairies … and Ayer told us, he couldn’t think of anyone better for the role.

“We had such a good time on Suicide Squad together and this role is kind of perfect for him, it’s an edgy movie, buts it’s funny. He’s got the best sense of humor of anybody I know.”

BRIGHT debuts on Netflix December 22. Peep the newest trailer below.
