Exclusive: Shamicka Lawrence: “Martin Supported Me Doing Hollywood Exes”

Published

on

Hollywood Exes newcomer Shamicka Lawrence is setting rumors straight about ex-husband Martin Lawrence’s reaction to her signing on to do the hit VH1 show.

Rumors recently sparked that the comedian threw a fit after learning that Shamicka would be starring on the show. According to several websites, the comedian tried to stop his ex-wife from doing the show and allegedly “sat and stewed” over it.

HipHollywood caught up with Shamicka who slammed the rumors and shared that Martin supported her decision. “I let him know that I was doing the show, and he just wished me the best,” the 37-year-old shared. “He’s seen the show the first season, so he knows that it’s not about ex-husband bashing,” she said.

“He knows that I’m not a messy person. I go through my emotions on the show but I don’t talk bad about him … It’s not about him, it’s about me going through my process of divorce,” Lawrence added.

The reality TV beauty and Martin ended their 15-year marriage this past February. The former couple have two daughters together.

Hollywood Exes airs Sunday nights on VH1.

Issa, Anthony, Sterling … Oh My! This Is Who We’re Rooting For At The Golden Globes

Another year, another award show … but this time around a few new names have made the nominations cut.

The 2018 Golden Globes nominees were announced on Monday and some of our favorites like Anthony Anderson, his show “black-ish”, Denzel Washington (“Roman J. Israel, Esq”), Octavia Spencer (“The Shape Of Water”) and Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”) made the list again. But some newbies were announced that have us giddy like it’s Christmas morning.

First up, we’re super glad that “Get Out” is being recognized, although it’s in the “Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical” category (womp) and to see David Kaluuya getting some love is pretty dope.

In addition, one of our FAVE singer is now being recognized for her acting prowess! Mary J. Blige scored a nod for her supporting role in “Mudbound” and we can’t wait to see what she wears to the big show.

And although this is Issa Rae’s second year being a Golden Globe nominee, we’re just as excited as if it were her first! Oh, and maybe the Globes will get it right this year (wink, wink).
