Photos: A Nude, Sculpted Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian poses nude … kind of. At nearly nine months pregnant, the reality TV beauty’s body was sculpted into a piece of artwork and displayed in Los Angeles.
On Wednesday, celebrity artist Daniel Edwards unveiled a nude life-size statue of Kim titled, “L.A. Fertility.” The statue shows a very pregnant Kardashian with no arms and no legs.
Daniels, who is known for his controversial sculpture of Britney Spears giving birth, said he created “L.A. Fertility” in response to the media’s criticism of Kim’s pregnancy weight gain. “I was inspired by the beauty of Kim Kardashian and felt quite put-off by the media’s criticism of her weight gain during pregnancy,” Edwards said in a statement. “Such criticism should be off limits,” the artist added.
When viewing the sculpture at the LAB ART Gallery, people are encouraged to rub Kim’s belly for good luck and success.
Also on display, a bronze statue of Kim and Kanye West’s baby portrayed as a cherub. The image of Kimye’s first baby can be seen resting in the crown that Queen Elizabeth wore as a princess with a swirl design shaved into the hair.
In another piece of artwork, displayed later this summer, Edwards paired the same bronze statue of Kimye’s unborn child with the unborn child of British Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton. The piece, titled “Special K and Little Grape” depicts both babies sleeping as womb-mates.
According to the press release, “Baby Kimye (Special K) is sculpted as a chubby-cheeked-cherub with angelic curls, and ‘Ks’ shaved in the hair, while the royal baby (Little Grape), who resembles Prince William as an infant, sucks its thumb and wears the crown Queen Elizabeth wore as a princess for King George VI’s coronation.”
